This temple was carved out of a Single Rock! How magnifique is that!
There are many man-made wonders of the world such as Colossus of Rhodes, Great Pyramid of Giza, Great Wall of China and Hanging Gardens of Babylons. Those are most famous ones but there are lots of amazing wonders out there but not familiar by us, like Kailashnath Temple in India. The most amazing part about the Kailashnath Temple is vertical excavation — carvers started at the top of the original rock, and excavated downward. It is estimated that about 400,000 tons of rocks was scooped out over hundreds of years to construct this monolithic structure. Striking proportion, elaborate workmanship architectural content and sculptural ornamentation of rock-cut architecture.
